Our story
Puddlejump Games started with a simple idea: making a fun game for my son.
It began at the kitchen table
My son loves dinosaurs. He loved them so much that I wanted to make him a game of his own: something bright and friendly that he could play by himself, with big buttons for small hands, nothing that would frighten him, and nothing hiding inside it that I would have to worry about.
That game became Dino Rescue. He was the first tester, and still the most honest one. If a jump was too hard, it got easier. If a level was dull, it got rebuilt. If a bit was fiddly for his fingers, it went.
Somewhere along the way, a game for one small dinosaur fan grew into Puddlejump Games: a small independent studio in Hampshire, England, making colourful adventures and creative apps for children aged about 4 to 8. Let's Colour came next, and more are on the way.
Why we make games this way
If you have ever handed a phone to a four-year-old, you know the worry. Will an advert pop up? Will they tap something that costs money? Is the game quietly watching them? We have felt all of that too, and it is exactly why Puddlejump games are built the way they are.
- No adverts, ever. Not even for our own games.
- No in-app purchases. Each full game is one small price, once, and it is yours for keeps. Nothing inside a game will ever ask for money.
- Nothing collected. Our games do not even ask for permission to use the internet. Nothing about you or your child ever leaves your device. See our privacy policy: it is short, because there is nothing to tell.
- Plays fully offline. Perfect for car journeys, waiting rooms and holiday cottages with no signal.
- Nothing scary and nothing punishing. Fall in the water in Dino Rescue and you splash straight back onto the bank. Colour outside the lines in Let's Colour? You can't.
Try before you buy
Every Puddlejump game comes with a free demo on Google Play. It is a proper, playable slice of the game, not a teaser, and nothing in it is locked behind a payment. Download the demo, see whether your little one loves it, and only then decide whether the full game is worth a pound or so. We think that is how it should work.
